The May Community Meeting was called to order by Ken Emerson, Board President, at 7:00 pm on May 9, 2019, at the Walnut Creek Clubhouse.ย  Board Members in attendance were Joe Blount, Gary Droege, Ken Emerson, Jacqui Maiseroulle and Howard Matteson.ย  Tyler Unsell, Halley Freeman, Scott Eiken and Siobhann Williams were unable to attend.

Ken Emerson welcomed all guests and the Board approved minutes for the April monthly Board Meeting.

Old Business:

Board Members approved a request from the Administration Committee for continuation of privilege suspensions for those violating restrictive covenants.

Ken Emerson updated the Board as to the status of removing the siltation at the bridge.ย  As the weather has not been cooperative, the hope is to have this project completed by the end of summer.

New Business:

Board Members approved the purchase of a new pool cover and mulch for the playground areas.

Gary Droege presented information including bids received on acquiring new signage for the neighborhood pool, tennis court, playgrounds, park etc.ย  Board Members approved going forward with the purchase and installation of the new signage.

Ken Emerson addressed the need to repair the damaged asphalt on the tennis court due to tree roots pushing through.ย  He also discussed the need to consider replacement fencing along the creek outside the baseball fields.

Prior to the meeting, Tyler Unsell had inquired as to the possibility of Board Members attending via Skype.ย  After a short discussion, the Board decided that Tyler Unsell should look into the possibility and present his findings at a later meeting.

Committee Reports

Administration:ย  There was a new printer purchased for the office in preparation for providing pool passes for the new season.ย  The office required IT assistance this past month and was very satisfied with the service provided by Computer Pros.ย  In the future, the office will be utilizing Computer Pros when in need of IT assistance.

Clubhouse:ย  The window film application is almost complete on the west side of the clubhouse.ย  This film blocks 72% of the incoming solar heat and will significantly reduce the workload on the AC system and its related utility costs.

Community Relations:ย  The Easter Egg Hunt was well attended and we had another very successful Spring Cleanup Day.ย  Thanks to all of the participating residents and a very special thanks to all of the volunteers that made this happen, it could not be done without you.ย  The Memorial Day Cookout is scheduled for noon on Sunday, May 26th, in the event of rain it will be held at the same time the following day.

Finance:ย  The 2018 tax return and compilation is in progress and expected to be completed by the end of May.

Grounds:ย  New mulch has been placed at the playgrounds.ย  Again, Spring Cleanup Day was a huge success.ย  The chipper was well utilized and 6 dumpsters were filled along with 1 ยฝ loads of scrap metal hauled off.ย  Thank you to all involved.

Pools:ย  Lifeguard certification is scheduled and alternative venues are being considered due to the rain and cool temperatures as of late.
