The December Community Meeting was called to order by Ken Emerson, Board President, at 7:00 pm on December 13, 2018, at the Walnut Creek Clubhouse. Board Members in attendance were Joe Blount, Gary Droege, Scott Eiken, Ken Emerson, Halley Freeman, Mike Howell, Jacqui Maiseroulle, and Siobhann Williams. Tyler Unsell was unable to attend.
Ken Emerson welcomed all guests.
The Board approved minutes for the November monthly Board Meeting and the 2018 Annual Member Meeting.
Committee Operations Manual was added to the agenda until New Business.
Board Members approved a request from the Administration Committee for continuation of privilege suspensions for those violating restrictive covenants.
Ken Emerson reported both storm water projects (Clubhouse Inlet Repair & Improvement and the Burlington Group’s Bank Reinforcement) have been completed and grant money will be requested from the County.
Mike Howell reported that two of the three continued pool vandalism cases have been closed. These two cases were for trespassing and damage to property and both parties have completed their restitution. The third and final case remains continued until February 2019.
Ken Emerson reported as to the meeting with the Sewer District Commissioners on overcharges for sewer based on their miscalculation of our internal clubhouse usage gauges. The Commissioners agreed with the numbers and authorized a $920.00 credit.
Ken Emerson presented a proposed Committee Structure for 2019 Board Committees. After discussion, the proposal was approved by the Board as recommended.
The Board discussed Officer roles for 2019 and appointed the following:
Ken Emerson – President
Joe Blount – Vice President
Gary Droege – Secretary
Siobhann Williams – Treasurer
The Board discussed the value of documenting Committee Responsibilities and Procedures.
Community Relations – The Children’s Christmas Party and the Lighting Contest are scheduled for December 16.
Grounds – Tom Ball from MAC Water was unable to attend the December meeting but is very interested in coming to another Board Meeting
Pools – Closed for the season !!
